Renters insurance program changing
Because of the recently adjusted 2015 Basic Allowance for Housing program by the Department of Defense, Fort Leavenworth Frontier Heritage Communities is making changes to the current Resident Renters Insurance program. FLFHC is no longer required to provide renters insurance for all residents assigned to housing on or after Jan. 1, 2015.
Although the requirement to provide renters insurance no longer exists, FLFHC has chosen to continue to provide renters insurance to active-duty military residents who were assigned to housing before Feb. 1, 2015, by extending FLFHC’s commitment through June 30, 2015, in order for residents to make the necessary adjustments to obtain replacement renters insurance.

Be sure exterior and garage walk-in doors are fully closed because storm doors do not provide the weather seal required to keep heated air in and cold air out. Also check that windows are completely closed and locked.
